  ZEHR, Peter R. Of 354 Huron St., New Hamburg, passed away Monday, May 17, 1976 at Stratford General Hospital, Mr. Zehr was born on Church 14, 1901, in East Zorra Township, aged 75 years. He had resided in New Hamburg for 40 years where he had farmed, and for the past 12 years was custodian of the Riverside cemetery, New Hamburg, until his retirement in 1975. He was a son of the late Joseph Zehr and the former Catherine Roth. He is survived by his wife, the former Maryann Schwartzentruber; three brothers Harley of Tavistock, Horace of New Hamburg, Elwood (Woody) of Chesley one daughter, Mrs. Edward (Catherine Hasenpflug of Atwood; one brother, Amos of Tavistock, three sisters, Mrs Eli (Lena) Bender of Baden, Mrs. Jacob (Christina) Erb of Tavistock and Mrs. Omar (Oleava) Schlegel) of Tavistock, 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter also survive. He was predeceased by one brother, Nicholas and two sons in infancy. He will be resting at the Bruce J. Omand Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg, where friends will be received Wednesday at 2-4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held at the Hillcrest Mennonite Church, on Thursday at 2 P.M. Interment will follow in Riverside cemetery New Hamburg. Rev. Henry Yantzi will officiate The Kitchener-Waterloo Record Newspaper 18 May 1976
