Notes |
- Peter J. Stewart - The death occurred in Galt Hospital on Thursday, May 24th, of Peter J. Stewart of Ayr, in his 72nd year. Deceased suffered a complete breakdown upon the death of his sister, Mrs. McHutchion, some four weeks ago, at which time he was removed to the hospital. He was born in Paris, a son of the late Erskine Stewart and Isabella Potter, and spent his boyhood in Greenfield. Mr. Stewart learned his trade as a machinist and worked in New York for many years. He also worked in the E. B. Eddy Co., Ltd., Hull, tending the intricate paper bag machines which were invented by his brother, the late Bert Stewart. Owing to ill health, he retired and came to live with his sister here, and for some time worked at the Hillborn hockey stick factory. Surviving are two nephews in Milk River, Alta., sons of his brother, the late William Stewart.
