• Notes

  Mrs. William Kiel, 87, of Elmira, died at Elmira private hospital March 23. The former Rachel Ober, she was born Feb. 25, 1880 in Petersburg, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Casper Ober. She was a member of St. James' Lutheran Church. Her husband predeceased her in 1962. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. K.M. (Thelma) Burrows of Willowdale and Mrs. Vests[sic] Shutz of London, Ont.; one sister, Mrs. Emma Hahn, Elmira; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three brothers and five sisters . The body was at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, where the funeral service was held Monday. Burial was in Elmira cemetery. Rev. H.W.
