- Mrs. Henry Hesse
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at the Bruce J. Omand Funeral Home, New Hamburg for the late Mrs. Henry Hesse, 88, of New Hamburg, who died Monday at Avon Crest Hospital, in Stratford, following a lingering illness.
Mrs. Hesse was the former Lavina Siebert, and was born at Wilmot Centre, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Siebert. Married in 1907, Mr. and Mrs. Hesse moved to RR 1, New Hamburg, where they farmed until Mr. Hesse's death in 1951. Mrs. Hesse moved to New Hamburg to live with her daughter, Mrs. Albert (Viola) Pauli. She was a former member of Wilmot Centre Evangelical United Brethren Church, and latterly attended the Bethel United Church.
Among the survivors are two sons, Irvin, of Tavistock and Harvey, of Stratford; three daughters Mrs. Pauli, Mrs. George (Effie) Capling of Bright; and Mrs. Annie Hofstetter of Baden; one sister, Anna Siebert, of Detroit, and several grandchildren.
Officiating at the services were Rev. J. W. Siebert, Stratford, a nephew, and Rev. H. W. Hagelstein of Bright. Temporary entombment was made at the Graff Memorial Chapel, New Hamburg, with burial to be in Bethel United Church cemetery, Wilmot Township.
