Notes |
- At the conclusion of the election of councillors in Waterloo village, the Artillery Company and band turned out to celebrate...The cannon was placed in front of the engine-house...Two young men named Robert Saunders and Andrew Lade were in the act of ramming in a charge when the cannon went off...Saunders was severely injured, Lade slightly injured by the ramrod. After leaving their hands, the ramrod flew down the street, and killed a man named Muehleisen, who leaves a wife, a child and an aged father. Berlin Chronicle
