    • Death of George Willison

This week we are called upon to report the passing of an old Ayr boy in the person of George Willison, which event occurred at Hamilton Saturday, Dec 7, after a long illness. The deceased, who had attained his 38th year, was born in Ayr and served an apprenticeship with his father as a merchant tailor, afterward conducting the business himself for some years. "Pete", as he was familiarly known among his associates, was a genial, whole-souled fellow and made many friends, all of whom will sincerely regret to learn of his long-time poor health and early demise. He left here about 9 or 10 year ago and had since resided in Hamilton. Both father and mother (who also latterly lived in Hamilton) predeceased him and were interred in the Ayr cemetery where George's remains were also laid to rest on Friday. In politics he was a Reformer and in religion a Presbyterian. Several brothers and sisters reside in Hamilton.
