    • Obituary of Murray "Bruce" Wiegand

      With sadness, the family of Bruce Wiegand announces his passing on Sunday, May 12, 2019 after a brief illness. He was 88.

      Devoted husband of the late Mary Beth Wiegand (nee Hatch) who passed away in 2018, father of Robert (Jeanette), Heather (Jan) and Cameron. He will be fondly remembered by several nieces, nephews, precious grandchildren (James, Kayla and Nadia) and great-grandchildren as well as many friends and extended family.

      Bruce was predeceased by his parents, Viola and Harvey Wiegand and his brother Don (Eileen).

      Bruce enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing bridge, travelling, and relaxing at his cottage. He will be remembered for his sense of humour, his sweet tooth and his stories about his world travels.

      For a good part of his career, he was in management in the textile industries. He was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Kitchener and former member of Men's Probus.

      Bruce's family wish to thank both the wonderful staff of Sunnyside (Buttonworks) and Sarah's Home Care for the kindness, care and love they showed their father.

      Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 1 \endash 4 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 11 a.m. A reception will immediately follow in the funeral home's Fireside Room. Interment will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery, Kitchener.
