- Peter Hallman, community service and sports builder '97 A lifelong resident of the region, Hallman had a passion for softball, and served as a volunteer manager and corporate sponsor. His generosity is considered a prime factor in making the Waterloo Twins Canada's longest-established senior men's fastball team. The Peter Hallman Ball Yard is named in his honour. Hallman died in 1999.
