Lady Well-Known in Guelph and Puslinch Passed Away

A few days ago (mid-July 1904), Miss Cunningham at Stamford, Connecticut. She was a native of Puslinch, where she was born 39 years ago and where she lived until she was 8 year of age. Then, the family removed to Hespeler and twelve years ago, to Stamford. About two years ago, she visited her old friends in Guelph and Hespeler, bright and animated as ever, enjoying a full measure of vigour and strength. She was a gracious, good-hearted woman, naturally of a joyous temperament and yet, quickly appreciative of the sorrows of others. Miss Cunningham had a fine literary taste. He body was interred at Woodland Cemetery on Long Island Sound, beside her brother, the late Dr. Cunningham. The funeral was large with fine floral offerings, amongst them one from the Masonic Grand Lodge, of which her brother is the youngest member. This is said to be the first time the Grand Lodge ever sent flowers to a lady's funeral. Her father, mother and four brothers and sisters survive: John of Guelph; Clarence, manager of Hammill & Gillespie's Whiting Mill, Brooklyn, NY; Richard, job printer of Stamford; Dr. E. G. Cunningham of New Canon, Connecticut; Misses Louisa, Lily, Ida and Amy, all of Stamford. Edward Gillespie, the veteran editor of the Stamford Advocate is an uncle.
