James Hawes is visiting his sister at Zion near Preston and we are sorry to report that he is in a very poor state of health.

______________
Mr. James Hawes, who had been a sufferer for some time, passed away to his long home last Sunday evening. James was taken ill last winter and gradually lost his eye sight. His father, Mr. Stephen Hawes, took him to the hospital at Toronto, where he remained a few weeks, but the doctors said they could not help him. The last month or two he had been troubled with a good deal of pain in his head and the doctor thought he had some trouble on the brain. After his death Drs. Stammers, of Hamburg, and Nichols, of Baden made an examination and found two of Hamburg, and Nichols, made an examination and tumors growing on the brain, one about the size of an egg and the other a good deal smaller. The funeral took place on Tuesday from his late residence at Nith Grove, where he had resided in a cottage on Mr. G. D. Brown's farm, to St. James' cemetery, Huron road. He leaves a wife and two children to mourn the loss of husband and father. To the widow and parents we extend our sympathy in their affliction.
