- Former Newspaper Man Dead
ANDREW L. ANDERSON ANSWERS THE CALL
A civil servant, once well-known in this city, named Andrew L. Anderson. died in Ottawa yesterday, aged 76 years.
He was an ex-newspaper man, who had served 30 years on the Toronto Globe and for some years on the Mail. before it was amalgamated with the Empire. For many years he was editor of the Berlin Telegraph, when it was owned by the Berlin Publishing Company and published on south Queen street. Mr. Anderson accepted a position in the civil service at Ottawa some fifteen years ago. Personally he was a genial man and well-liked by his fellow workers and neighbors. As a writer he was one of the old school who, believed that whenever a Tory head showed it was his duty to hit it and hit it hard.
He was sincere in his efforts and faithful to his employers. His many Berlin friends will learn of his death with regret.
