    • DOROTHY MARIE SCHMITT-SNYDER (nee Shantz) 1917 - 2005 Passed away peacefully at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on Wednesday, September 7, 2005 , formerly of 515 Langs Drive, Cambridge, Dorothy Snyder, age 88. Lovingly remembered by her daughter Marlene and husband Willard Snider of Waterloo, and by son Gerald Schmitt of Kitchener. Grandmother of Steven Snider and wife Brenda, and Dale Snider and wife Kelly. Great-grandmother of Kevin, Jocelyn, Chloe, and Kristen Snider. Also remembered by sister-in-law Mabel Shantz and by the Nelson Snyder family. Dorothy was predeceased by her first husband of 40 years, Lloyd Schmitt (1981) and was predeceased by her second husband, Nelson Snyder (1993). Also predeceased by her sisters Leota (Ed) Feick and Vinetta (Vernon) Witmer and her brothers Lloyd (Beatrice) Shantz, Ward (Mabel) Shantz and Clayton (first wife Vera) Shantz. Predeceased by sister-in-law Naomi (Ozias) Gingrich, and by her brother-in-law Leighton (Leona) Schmitt. Friends are invited to share their memories of Dorothy with her family for memorial visitation at First Mennonite Church, 800 King Street East, Kitchener on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 from 1: 30 to 2: 30 p. m. The memorial service to celebrate Dorothy's life of love and service to God and others will be held at the church, on Wednesday at 2: 30 p. m. Interment in First Mennonite Cemetery has taken place. In Dorothy's memory, donations may be made to First Mennonite Church or Crossroads Christian Communications (Huntley Street), and can be arranged through the Edward R.
