  Bast, John - On Tuesday, June 14, 1983, at St. Mary's Hospital, John Bast, of 218 Boullee St., New Hamburg, and formerly of Baden, age 77 years. He was a member of Steinman Mennonite Church, RR 2, Baden. Son of the late Christian Bast and the former Elizabeth Boshart; dear husband of the former Rosetta Helmuth, whom he married September 12, 1935; lovingly remembered by his children, Harry and his wife Gisela of Waterloo, Floris Bast of Kitchener, Iris and her husband Gregor Wagner of Kitchener; his brothers, Allen of Baden, Nelson of Sebringville; sisters, Irene (Mrs. William Yost) of Milverton and Mrs. Dorothy Mayer of Heidelberg. Sadly missed by his grandchildren, Angela, Daryl and Kevin Bast, Terence, James and Melissa Wagner. Predeceased by three brothers, Ezra, Wesley and Andrew and one sister, Mrs. Clara Kropf. Friends and relatives may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg, after 7 p.m. tonight, until Friday, June 17, when transfer will be made to the Steinman Mennonite Church, RR 2, Baden for service at 2: 30 p.m., with Rev. Fred Lichti officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
