- SNYDER, Mabel (Mrs. Lorne W.) - Peacefully, on Monday, September 18, 2006, at her residence. Mabel (Swartzentruber) Snyder, in her 79th year, of Elmira, formerly of Millbank.Beloved wife of the late Lorne W. Snyder (1991). Dear mother of Robert and Donna of Millbank, Peg and Mike Budd of Kelowna, B.C., Jean and Ron Martin of St. Agatha, Doug and Linda of Elmira and Warren and Rebecca of Kitchener. Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Jeff, Tim (Suzi), Ben; Steve, Katie; Chris (Julie), Michelle (Dave); Brandon, Mike (Maggie), Scott, Matt; and Dayton.Sister and sister-in-law of Dorothy and Stan Sauder, Lucinda Wyse, Vicki Swartzentruber.Predeceased by her parents, Edwin and Katie (Leis) Swartzentruber; her brother, Harold; her brothers-in-law, Robert Wyse, Ivan Schiedel and her sister-in-law, Adeline Schiedel.Mabel served in her church in various leadership roles and was also actively involved in the community with the Waterloo Federation of Agriculture, Steckle Heritage Farm and the Elmira M.C.C. Thrift Shop.The family will receive their friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Wednesday evening from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At noon on Friday, September 22, 2006, transfer will be made to the Hawkesville Mennonite Church for funeral service at 2 p.m. with Pastor Perry Bartel officiating, followed by interment in Hawkesville Cemetery.in her memory, donations to Mennonite Central Committee or The J. Steckle Heritage Foundation would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy.
