Mary S. Risk, wife of Robert Woods, died on Saturday at her home on the 9th Concession of Beverley Tp. The deceased, who was in her 76th year, was born on the W ilmot-Blandford townline on the farm now owned by Thomas Baird. She attended the Green's School. Fifty-four years ago she was united in marriage to Robert Woods and their early married life was spent in Elma Township, near Listowel. After purchasing the farm on the corner of the 14th Concession of Blandford. and the townline between that township and Blenheim, they, with their three sons, William, George and Alvin, remained here for seventeen years. Before her marriage and during this period of residence, Mrs. Woods was active in the different organizations of Chesterfield Church, the Ladies' Guild, the Women's Missionary Society and the choir. In 1916 the farm was sold to D. H. Bell and after living four years in Galt they moved to their present home with their son, Alvin, and wife. There she attended Central Presbyterian Church, Galt.

Surviving are her husband, Ella and a brother, Robert, both of Vancouver, a brother George, of Galt, three sons, four grandsons, a grand-daughter, Mrs. McAlpine, who is attached to the Sudan United Mission in French Equatorial Africa, and daughter, John, Charles, William and Agnes are members of the family who predeceased her.

The deceased will be remembered by older residents of the community as a charming hostess and for her congenial, kindly, quiet disposition, which reflected a truly Christian character. Sympathy is extended to those bereaved.

The funeral was held Tuesday from the T. Little and Son Funeral Home, Galt, thence to the Chesterfield Cemetery for interment.
