Notes |
- Accident Ends Fatally for Mr. C. Merner
New Hamburg, Ont., Dec. 25 - Charles Merner, Superintendent of the New Hamburg Felt and Boot Company here, met with a fatal accident. On Saturday last he was engaged in the works examining a loom that was close to another one in full operation. While doing so his sweater caught in the drum, and he was instantly carried up off his feet into the machinery. He lingered until 5:30 p.m. today, when he died. The deceased was about forty-five years old and unmarried. He has numerous relatives here, and his sudden death has cast a gloom over the village. His funeral takes place here on Monday afternoon.
