  Baechler.- Idella, daughter of Peter and Lydia (Roth) Steinmann, was born in Wilmot Twp., Ont., Oct. 21, 1913; died at Shakespeare, Ont., Sept. 6, 1981; aged 67 y. On Dec. 6,1936, she was married to Arthur Baechler, who survives. Also surviving are 7 sons (Delford, Harold, Peter, Clare, David, Gerald, and Kenneth), 2 daughters (Miriam-Mrs. John Zimmerman and Eilene-Mrs. Paul Helmuth), and 15 grandchildren. She was a member of Steinmann Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Sept. 9, in charge of Vernon B. Zehr, Fred Lichti, and Elmer Schwartzentruber; interment in the Steinmann Cemetery. Gospel Herald - Volume 74, Number 40 - October 6, 1981, page 758. ______________________ Baechler, Mrs. Arthur (Idella) - On Sunday, Sept. 6, 1981, at her home, Mrs. Idella (Steinmann) Baechler, age 67 of Bell Street, Shakespeare. She was a member of Steinmann Mennonite Church, RR 2, Baden, where she was a member of the WMSA. Beloved wife of Arthur Baechler, whom she married December 6, 1936; dear mother of Deford, Harold and Peter, all of Tavistock, Clare of RR 1, Shakespeare, David and Gerald, both of Kitchener, Kenneth of Rostock, Miriam (Mrs. John Timmermans) of Stratford and Ellene (Mrs. Paul Helmuth) of Baden. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, the late Peter Steinmann and the former Lydia Roth and one brother Floyd. The late Mrs. Baechler is resting at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, New Hamburg Chapel, 291 Huron St., until noon Wednesday, Sept. 9, when removal will be made to Steinmann Mennonite Church for service at 2: 30 p.m., with Rev. Vernon Zehr officiating. Interment to follow in church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Ontario Society for Crippled Children.
