  SCHMITT, Mrs. Alfred (Ella) - On Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1988, at St. Mary's Hospital, aged 82 years, of RR 3, Waterloo, Ella Brown. Beloved wife of Alfred Schmitt, for over 63 years; dear mother of Floyd and Ellen and Grace Downs and William, all of St. Jacobs, Ross and Marie of Kitchener, Yvonne Such and Gerald of Waterloo, Barbara Gumpert and Rolf of Branchton; loved grandmother of 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her family, having been predeceased by four sisters and six brothers. Visitation at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, where the family will receive their friends Thursday, 2- 4 and 7-9 p.m. At noon on Friday, transfer will be made to St. James Lutheran Church, St. Jacobs, for funeral service at 2 p.m., with Rev. Everett Mossman officiating. Interment St. Paul's Lutheran cemetery, Erbaville. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated.
