    • Mrs. Sarah C. Becker

      Mrs. Sarah C. Becker, 84, died on Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert Johnstone, R.R. 6, Galt, after a brief illness. The former Sarah Umbach, a daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. Joseph Umbach, she was born at New Hamburg, Jan. 31st, 1866. She was a member of Calvary Memorial Evangelical Church, Kitchener, the Ladies' Aid, Women's Society of World Service and the Women's Christian Temperance Union.

      Her husband, Rev. Emil D. Becker, a former resident of New Hamburg, died in November, 1933. Surviving are three sons, Harrison, of Glidden, Ia.; Gordon, of Hanover; Eldon, of Kitchener, and a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Essie) Johnstone, R.R. 6, Galt. Five grandchildren and a great-grandchild also survive.

      Funeral services will be held at Calvary Church Kitchener, on Friday afternoon and interment will take place in Union Cemetery, Elmira.
