- ZEHR, Daniel R. - Passed away, peacefully, on Friday, March 12, 2004, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Kitchener. Dan resided in New Hamburg. He was born 70 years ago in South Easthope Township a son of the late Ezra and Annie (Roth) Zehr. Dan was a member of Steinmann Mennonite Church, Baden. He had farmed in South Easthope Township for many years and had been employed with Boshart Electric and Yantzi Floor and Wall. Dan was a loving and devoted grandfather and enjoyed coffee time with his friends. Beloved husband of Marie (Jantzi) Wilker who he married August 10, 1968. Dan was predeceased by his first wife, Shirley Schmidt (1966). Loving father and grandfather of Perry Zehr and Carolyne Pacheco of Wiarton, Bonnie and Andrew Baillie (Matthew and Rachel) of Dundas, Randy and Elizabeth Zehr (Derek and Andrea) of Kitchener, Rosalie and Francis Givlin (Lindsay and Christopher) of Wellesley. Dear brother of Melvin and Katie Zehr, Lorraine and Melvin Schultz, Edna and Art Yantzi and Irvin Zehr and Ruth Craig. Also remembered by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Fern and Joe Martin, Idella and Lewis Nafziger and Mahlon and Sadie Jantzi as well as a number of nieces and nephews. Friends and relatives may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg, on Sunday, March 14, 2004, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, March 15, 2004 at Steinmann Mennonite Church at 2 p.m. with Pastor Steve Drudge and Pastor Ilene Bergen officiating. Burial to follow in the adjoining cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Lung Association or House of Friendship.
