- Suddenly, on Sunday, February 27, 1944, at his home on the 3rd concession of Eramosa Township, in his 73rd year. Husband of Sarah J. Salt. He was a former resident of this district (Hespeler) and was well known in the community. He had seemed in normal health on Sunday and after completing the Sunday chores, had brought a pail of water into the house. His wife left the room to attend to a home item and on returning, found him dead. He was a member of the United Church. Besides his wife, he is survived by a brother, Martin of Detroit. The funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon. A service was held at his home in Eramosa Township and interment was made in the Hespeler Cemetery.
