  Mrs. W. H. Smith Former Ayr Resident Passes The death occurred at Brantford General Hospital on Saturday of a former Ayr resident, Mrs. William Smith, in her 88th year. She had been hospitalized for some time. The former Jean Anderson, she was born in Toronto, a daughter of the late Thomas Anderson and Jessie Laidlaw Anderson. She came to Ayr as a young girl and lived here until her marriage to the late William H. Smith, who predeceased her in 1949. She had resided in Brantford for 50 years or more. She was a member of Wellington United Church and the UCW in that city, as well as the Grand View Women's Institute, Brantford Senior Citizens and Independent Order of Foresters. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. The Funeral Funeral service was held on Tuesday at Thorpe Brothers' Funeral Home, Brantford, conducted by Rev. Cyril Bach of Wellington United Church.
