    • Old Resident Passes Away - The death took place on Tuesday, Feb. 28, at her residence, McRae St., Ayr, of an estimable old resident in the person of Mrs. Agnes Hunter, at the age of 71 years. The deceased had been in declining health for some time, but passed away quietly and peacefully without any apparent struggle. She was born in Langholm, Scotland, her maiden name being Agnes Elliott. The family came to as this country when she was in her girlhood, and she has resided in Ayr ever since. She married early in life, her husband being the late John Hunter, who predeceased her some seven years. She was a consistent member of Knox church, and her pastor, Rev. Jno. Thomson, conducted the services at the funeral today. Two sons, Thos. J. and Robert, survive. A brother, James Elliott, resides in town, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Hope, lives beyond Roseville. Mr. and Mrs. Hunter of Wingham were here attending the funeral, and many old friends joined in paying their respects to the remains, which were interred in the Ayr cemetery.
