________
DEATH OF MRS. GEO. MATHIESON.
Mrs. G. Mathieson died at her home on Friday, Dec. 20th. She had been confined to the house for about four weeks but the immediate relatives of the home did not realize that the end was so near and thus only part of the family were present when she became unconscious and the others were deprived of a mother's benediction and the last tender farewell of one who was a mother indeed. In the home she was the guiding spirit, where she will be greatly missed. In her church relationship our departed sister was loyal to Christ and faithful to the interest of Stanley Street congregation. Her self-denying work as President to the Mission Band was to her a pleasure. Just a week before she was called to a higher service the members of the Band presented her with a touching address, expressing the appreciation of its members of her loving labour in their behalf. "Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord, they rest from their labours and their works do follow them." The deceased, whose maiden name was Annie Murray, was born at New Castleton, Roxboroughshire, Scotland, in 1840, and came to this country with her parents in 1855, coming directly to Galt. She was married in 1858 and became the mother of three boys and seven girls all of whom are alive but one, Agnes, the second daughter, she dying when nine year of age.
