- RETA PEARL DUNKE1917-2009 Passed away peacefully, Reta Pearl Dunke was received into the arms of Jesus on the morning of Friday, July 10, 2009. She was 92 years old. She was the former Reta Schedewitz, daughter of the late Simon and Sophia Schedewitz. Born in Yatton on January 10, 1917 where she was raised and also lived in Elmira, Waterloo and for many years on Morrison Road in Kitchener. For the past five years, she has been a resident of Victoria Place in Kitchener. Reta married Carlton Dunke on July 19, 1958. He predeceased her in 1993. She is survived by six nieces and nephews, June Pettie, Wayne Schedewitz, Joan Blackie, Gloria Wegener, Michael and William Weichel. A special great-nephew, Mark O'Leavey also survives. Many great nieces and nephews will remember her. Predeceased by a sister, Gertrude Weichel; two brothers, Clayton and Howard Schedewitz; a niece, Jean O'Leavey; and a nephew, William Schedewitz. Reta loved to paint landscapes and she was fond of travelling. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Kitchener and she spoke many times of her love for the Lord. Reta's family would be pleased to receive relatives and friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King St. S., Waterloo Saturday, July 11, 2009 (today) from 6 - 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Sunday, July 12, 2009 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Terry Hursh officiating. A reception will follow the service in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home. Interment at a later date in Mount Hope Cemetery, Kitchener. Condolences for the family and donations to Hope Lutheran Church can be arranged through the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445. In living memory of Reta, a donation will be made to the Trees for Learning Program by the funeral home
