    • After an illness extending over the past nine months, one of Hespeler's old and highly respected residents, peacefully, at his home on Walker St. in Hespeler, on Tuesday, July 28, 1914 at 9: 30 p. m. , aged 68 years, 9 months and 3 days, death resulting from diabetes, from which he had been a sufferer for some time. He was born on October 25, 1845 in Black Rock, NY and while quite young, he came to Canada with his parents. In October 1870, he married Mary Cober, after which they settled on a farm in Grey Township, Huron County, remaining there for ten years. He then moved to the Nicholas Cober farm in Puslinch Township, where he remained until retiring in March 1904. Then he moved to Hespeler, residing on Walker St. until the time of his death. In politics, he was a staunch Liberal. In religion, he was a firm believer in the Wesleyan doctrine, having taken an active interest in and being a regular attendant of the Methodist Church. Remaining are his wife, his daughter, Mrs. A. Evans of Beaverton, ON; his sisters, Mrs. John Grieve and Mrs. James Swain of Galt; Mrs. Henry Grobe and Mrs. Alex House of Preston. The funeral was held from his residence on Friday at 2: 30 to Hespeler Cemetery for interment.
