    • George Roos, once a prominent brewer in this city, died at the family home, No. 143 Linwood Avenue, early this morning. He was 65 years old.

      Mr. Roos was born in Preston, Ont.; September 15, 1833, and came to Buffalo with his parents a year later. His father started a brewery and in 1868, when the father died, Mr. Roos assumed control of the business. He married Miss Julia Thiebolt of this city on November 6, 1854. In 1885 Mr.Roos sold the brewery at Pratt Street near Broadway to the Roos Co-Operative Brewery Company. His sons had the controlling interest in this company. In connection with the brewery ran a sales stable. His stables were on the brewery grounds. When he sold out he transferred his stables to East Buffalo. Last summer he retired from business altogether. He is survived by his widow, Julia Roos. two sons, George W. of Buffalo, and Adolph Roos of Meadville, Pa. and three daughters, Mrs. Ehrensberger and Mrs. Charles Buehl of this city and Mrs. Max Mayer of Orlean. He will be buried from the family home Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The Rev. Koehler of the English Lutheran Church at Tupper and Ellicott streets will officiate.
