  I am related to Janet Beaton, wife of William Kidd. Her oldest brother, George Beaton, was my Grandfather. George Beaton moved from Paisley, Scotland to Newfoundland, Canada, and a few years later to Sydney, Nova Scotia where he was the Superintendent of the Sydney Steel Mill.
