Notes |
- J.W. Taylor, Ticket Agent and Insurance, Main Street - An important business carried on in this town is that of the above house, which, combining two separate branches of useful industry, is entitled to more than mere passing mention. The house was established 11 years ago, and occupies an office on the main thoroughfare, and within easy reach of all the business houses. In a manufacturing centre like Galt it occupies a prominent position. Mr. J.W. Taylor is ticket agent for the Canadian Pacific Railroad, and agent for American and Canadian Express Companies. The railway facilities of the town are unsurpassed, the railways running to and from the four points of the compass. Mr. Taylor is also agent for the Royal, Guardian, Queen's Phenix, of Brooklyn; London, Liverpool and Globe, and Wellington Mutual Insurance Company, of Guelph. These are all old established and thoroughly reliable companies, having been well and severely tested, and stood the test. Mr. Taylor has a good knowledge of insurance business, and is a straightforward, upright gentleman, whose word can be implicitly relied upon in all business matters. He is held in high esteem in the community, and is a prominent member of the Town Council. He is also agent for Bell's telephone.
