    • Shantz, Mahlon It is with heartfelt sorrow that the family announces the peaceful passing of Mahlon Shantz on Saturday, November 13, 2004.

      Beloved husband of Marie (Seyler) Shantz for 48 years. Mahlon was a loving father to Gary and Denise Shantz of Waterloo, Ruth and Mark Witmer of Wellesley, Karen and Ian Deacon of Burlington. Dear grandfather of Cody and Jared Shantz, Shawn and Kristen Deacon. The brother of Nyal and Helen Shantz, Etta and Lloyd Shantz, Robert and Lena Shantz, Ida and Lloyd Schwartzentruber, twin brother Ion and Helen Shantz, Arley and Mabel Shantz. Also remembered by brothers and sisters-in-law Irene Shantz, Doris Schwartzentruber and John Hillar, Harold and Isabel Seyler, David and Susan Seyler. Mahlon will be missed by many nieces and nephews.

      Predeceased by his parents Manasseh and Louida (Cressman) Shantz and brothers Howard and his wife Hilda, Wilfred and his wife Selda and Armand, his sister Esther and her husband Aron Enns and brother-in-law Corson (Gib) Schwartzentruber. Mahlon's family will receive relatives and friends from 7-9 PM Monday and 2-4 and 7-9 PM Tuesday at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener 749-8467. Transfer will be made to Reformation Lutheran Church (456 Krug St., Kitchener) at 12: 30 PM Wednesday, November 17, 2004 for a funeral service at 1: 30 PM.. Pastor Dale Finch officiating.

      Interment Shantz Mennonite Church Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations to Reformation Lutheran Church or St. Mary's Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
