  MRS. GEORGE SMITH A lifelong resident of this district and the lone surviving member of the Bobsin family of early settlers was claimed by death last evening when Sarah, wife of the late George Smith, passed away peacefully at her home on Water street at 9.45 o'clock. Although the late Mrs. Smith, who was in her 76th year, had not been in good health for some time, being confined to her bed some six months ago, her death came rather unexpectedly, causing shock and sorrow among her wide circle of friends and admirers. She was a devout and faithful member of the Preston Baptist church and prior to the time of her confinement had been an active member of the societies of the church. Born in Kossuth where her pioneer parents settled, the late Mrs. Smith had lived for the greater part of her life in Preston, where she was a well-known figure. Her husband predeceased her four years ago, and surviving are three sons, William, Charles and Edward, all of Preston and one daughter, Mrs. W. B. Beckett, also of Preston; seven grand children and three great grandchildren. The funeral will be held on Saturday afternoon at two o'clock (E.T.) with a short private service at the late residence, 163 Water street. Owing to the fact that there is not at the present time a resident minister at the Preston Baptist church, the name of the clerk who will officiate, was not made known. It will likely be the Rev. W. Bremner of Galt. Interment is to take place in the Preston Cemetery. Kitchener Daily Record 18 Aug 1932 pg 3
