- TRIBUTE IS PAID TO LATE MRS. LOUISA LUTZ
All that was mortal of Mrs. Louisa Lutz relict of the late Henry Lutz, was laid away in Hagey's cemetery, Preston, on the afternoon of December 2, Thursday, after fitting services at the residence and the Congregational church in Freeport, which were conducted by Herbert L. Troyer, of Toronto formerly in temporary charge of the Kitchener pastorate.
Many friends were assembled at the home and church, the edifice being filled. Tribute to the deceased was paid and shown by friends by their attendance and in the floral emblems that were received. The pallbearers were Messrs. S. S. Detwiler, Ed. Schaefer, D. L. Weber, J. E. Shantz, A. Lewis and A. Sherman.
The following were among the floral emblems that were received.
Employes of John Forsyth Co. Ltd., Kitchener; wreath from Mrs. E. B. Erb and Mrs. A. Schreiter of Kitchener; Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Troyer of Toronto a spray; Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Wiegand of Preston a spray; Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Gimbel, of Preston a spray.
Words of consolation and tribute were included in the address by Mr. Troyer at the church. The first part of his remarks were based on the words of Scripture, Ecclesiastes, 3, 4 4: "God hath made everything beautiful in His time." and the text for the second part was John 21,4: "When the morning came they saw Jesus standing on the shore."
The speaker among other things said that the concourse of friends assembled at the service had come together to do more than honor but also to hear the voice of and pay heed to the will of one whose fatherly love is so strong and whose motherly love is so tender. He referred to the beauty in timeliness and also therefore in death. During the course of his remarks he recited among other things an appropriate verse. This was:
"Life's work well done,
"Life's race well run,
"Life's crown well won,
Now comes rest."
He touchingly referred to the loss sustained in the death of Mrs. Lutz both by the only surviving daughter and her many friends among whom she was well known and highly thought of. In conclusion he alluded to the life beyond to which the stars beckoned as the sun set, among which Jesus was the major star.
