  Hit and run victim was 'easy to love' Ruth Hamilton, 82, 'was one of those people who just lit the room,' family member says WATERLOO - Ruth Hamilton, who was killed Tuesday morning while crossing at the intersection King and Hickory streets, is remembered by her family as a woman "easy to love." Dorothy Reed whose husband was Hamilton's first cousin said she was crossing the King Street to go to the bank when she was hit by the truck. ....Ruth met her future husband, Oswald Hamilton in Toronto. "He charmed her, which he did their whole life," said Reed. "The two of them were just inseparable." They spent 59 years together until his death on March 15, 2012.
