    • James Harling

      PRESTON, Jan. 4, James Harling, 58, died today in St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener. A native of England, he came to Preston in 1903. He resided for a short time in Blair. in 1916, he went overseas with "B" Company of the 111th Battalion and was wounded twice in action, in France. After returning to Preston, Mr. Harling resided in California. He returned to Preston eight years ago. His wife, the former Ethel Gardner, predeceased him in 1925. Surviving are two daughters, Vivian and Lorraine and a sister, Mrs. George Burt, in California and one brother, Jesse, Preston. The body is resting at the Stager-Pass Ltd. Funeral Home, where the funeral will be held Saturday, at 4 p.m. Rev. W. H. Knauff, pastor of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, will officiate and interment, will be in Park Lawn Cemetery, Preston.
