  • Notes
    • JOYCE CSANADY (nee Stever) 1915-2007 Passed away peacefully with her beloved Gabriel by her side on Friday, June 15, 2007 in her 92nd year. Joyce was the dearly loved wife and soulmate of Gabriel who she married in 1966. Cherished mother of Patricia Hayward (Ron Howard) of Perth, Australia, Connie Kraft (John) of Kitchener and Susan Pleau (Nelson) of Dallas, Texas. Special step mom to Andrew Csanady (Debbie) of St. Pete Florida. Also survived by her grandchildren, Debbie Leslie (Peter) of Perth, Australia, Sarah Buttee (Brian) of Waterloo, Daniel Kraft of Kitchener, Brittany Pleau of Dallas, Texas, Ashley Csanady and Jay Csanady (Sam) as well as two great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her first husband, Edward "Bud" Wellein in 1964. Joyce had a wonderful full life, traveling the world, playing surrogate mother to several generations of Gabe's flock of graduate students and she especially loved ballroom dancing. Her favourite times however, were spent with Gabe and her extended family at their cottage in Kincardine, a truly special place they returned to year after year. She was renowned for her razor sharp wit and feisty personality and will be missed by many. A special thank you to all the wonderful, caring people that looked after Joyce; the staff at Doon Village Retirement Home, the caregivers from Robertson Brown and most recently Lanark Heights Long Term Care. Also Zabrina, your love and compassion made a difficult journey bearable and we will always be grateful. Visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo will be held on Monday, June 18, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, Waterloo.

Following the committal service at the cemetery, friends and relatives are invited to return to the funeral home for refreshments and a time to visit with the family. Condolences for the family and donations to the Alzheimer Society of K-W or the Juvenile Diabetes Association would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy and can be arranged through the funeral home, 519-745-8445 or www.erbgood.com In memory of Joyce, a tree will be planted through The Trees for Learning Program by the funeral home.
