    • Died, At his residence in the Village of Ayr, on Sunday, the 25th inst., at 9.15 o'clock P.M., Robert Merilees, Aged 41 Years. Funeral You are respectfully invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday, the 28th inst., at 2 o'clock P.M., from his late residence to the burying ground 1½ miles east of Ayr. Ayr, Ont., 26th Jan. 1874.

      I am just alon and I thought I would write you to let you know how we are all coming on I will begin with myself I am not so strong I am very ill with my Breath bute still I must not complean as long as I can geat oute old Mrs Wylle [Jeannie (Becket) Wyllie.She died in February.] has been very porly but she is a little better magge [Margaret (Pringle) Wyllie (daughter)] has been over this too week night and day you would hear that Bobe Merilees [Robert Merilees died 25 January 1874, aged 41.] was harm on seterday night he was siting in his hous and thear was a man came out of the tavren and fell it was very slippy and Bobe went to lift him up and he fell himself and died one Sunday night he had three Docters but tha could do nothing fore him he had hurt his Brain he was going Back again it was a verry sudden Death he never spock .....
