Prof Zollner presided at the organ console yesterday morning for the wedding of Miss Mary Russo, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael Russo, to Mr. Raymond L. Hetgott, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hergott. Stahl Avenue. Gladioli were used to decorate the altar of St. Mary's R.C. Church.
The bride was given in marriage by Mr. Pat Giovinazzo. She wore a long white net gown over taffeta made with sweetheart neckline trimmed with white velvet ribbon and centred with a velvet bow with long streamers. Her headdress was in Queen Anne style, catching to her head a long bridal veil of imported embroidered Brussels net. Her bouquet was of Better Times roses.
Miss Rita Hergott, sister of the bridegroom was the maid of honor and Miss Irene Hergott, sister of the bridegroom was the bridesmaid. The former wore a long maze colored net gown over taffeta. It had a square neckline trimmed with mauve velvet ribbon. Her headdress was of Swiss veiling. She carried a nosegay to match her gown. The bridesmaid was attired in a long powder, blue gown of marquisette Grecian lines with sweetheart neckline trimmed with dark blue velvet ribbon. She wore a floral headdress and carried nosegay to match her gown.
Mr. Charles Giovinazzo, Chestnut Street was best man. Messrs. Frank Marshall, Sunnyside. brother-in- law of the bride, and Leonard Hergott of Brantford, brother of the bridegroom, were the ushers.
A wedding dinner was served at the Olde Mill Coffee Shoppe, followed by a reception at the home of the bridegroom's parents, the rooms of which were decorated with white, yellow and blue streamers centring a wedding bell. The mother of the bridegroom assisted the bridal couple to receive the 50 guests. She wore a luggage tan redingote of Pall Mall crepe. The dress was fashioned on princess lines with sweetheart neckline and fitted matching coat with flared skirt. Her hat and purse matched her dress and she wore a corsage of Talisman roses.
On their return from a wedding trip to Montreal, the couple will make their home at 97 Queen Street South. Out-of-town guests were from Toronto, Brantford, Guelph, Detroit and Sunnyside.
