  Mrs. Clarence Carothers Passes A resident of Galt, Mrs. Clarence Carothers, 65, of 11 Victoria Ave., died Thursday morning at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Gowing, 665 Coronation Blvd., Galt. Born in Hopeville, Ont., April 28, 1897, she was a daughter of the late David and Elizabeth Scott. She had resided in Ayr for 18 years before moving to Galt two years ago. Surviving are her husband, Clarence R. Carothers, one son, John, Galt; four daughters, (Mary) Mrs. James Gordon, Ayr; (Eleanor) Mrs. John Singlar, Detroit; (Ruth), Mrs. Frank Gowing, Galt, and (Margaret) Mrs. Maurice Hogg, Preston; two sisters, Mrs. Louisa McEwen, Galt, and Mrs. Mary Dingwall, Guelph; fourteen grandchildren. Mrs. Carothers was predeceased by one brother. The Funeral Funeral service was held Saturday at the Coutts & Son Ltd. Funeral Home, Galt, with interment in Ayr Cemetery.
