- ALLEN BECHTEL - Allen Bechtel, 72, died at his home, 72 Elgin Street, last night following a lengthy illness. He was born in Wilmot Township, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Menno Bechtel. In 1896 he married the former Julia Kaufman of Wellesley.
Mr. Bechtel attended St. Mark's Lutheran Church. He was a past master and charter member of Waterloo Lodge A.F. and A.M. No. 539 and a member of the Wilmot Lodge Baden A.F. and A.M.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, Harvey and Walter of Oakland, Calif. and Leading Aircraftman John Bechtel of Fingal; one daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Fisher of Kitchener; one brother, Ezra; three sisters, Miranda Bechtel of Kitchener, Mrs. Edward Fischer of Bridgeport and Mrs. Edward Bish of Kitchener and five grandchildren.
Remains will be at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until Thursday at 2 p.m. when the funeral service will be held. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.
