  BAST, Allan - On Monday, May 6, 1985, at People Care Centre, in Tavistock, Mr. Allan Bast, in his 86th year, formerly of 196 Snyder's Rd. E., Baden. He was born in East Zorra township, a son of the late Christian Bast and the former Elizabeth Boshart. He was a member of Zion. Lutheran Church, Philipsburg; the Canadian Foresters; was interested in plowing matches and had also owned Belgian show horses. Beloved husband of the former Ida (Edith) Searth; dear father of Peter and his wife Sharon of New Hamburg; beloved grandfather of Charlene and her husband Tom Boehler and David, all of New Hamburg. Also survived by one brother, Nelson of Sebringville; two sisters, Irene (Mrs. William Yost) of Milverton, Mrs. Dorothy Mayer of Heidelberg; two sisters-in-law, Lena Bast of Tavistock and Rosetta Bast of New Hamburg. He was predeceased by four brothers and one sister. Friends and relatives may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg, after 7 p.m. this evening, until noon on Thursday, when transfer will be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Philipsburg, for service at 2 p.m., with Rev. Douglas Kranz officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church. The Kitchener-Waterloo Record 7 May 1985
