- Death of Mr. George Lee
After a long and trying illness, Mr. George Lee, a well known citizen of the town, passed away on Monday. He was nearly seventy years of age, and had been in failing health for some years. His parents came from Roxburghshire, Scotland; but Mr. Lee was born in Galt. He had been a resident of Owen Sound for forty years. He was a watchmaker by trade, but gave much of his time to other work in the mechanical lines; in fact he came of a family of mechanical geniuses, his brother, James Lee, being one of the inventors the Lee-Enfield rifle. His wife, who was a Miss David, survives him, with one son Frank, and two daughters, Mrs. Briggs and Mrs. Frank Morgan. Mrs. Geo. Corbet, formerly of Owen Sound, now of Duluth, Minn., is a sister. The funeral took place on Wednesday to Greenwood cemetery.

Death of Mr. George Lee
The death took place on Monday of Mr. George Lee, a resident of the west side annex and formerly in business here as a watchmaker and jeweler. Deceased was born in Galt of Scottish parentage shortly after the latter's arrival from Hawick, Scotland. He learned his trade with his father, who was one of the most skillful watchmakers in the Province in his day. Coming to Owen Sound when the Indian lands comprising Sarawak and Keppel were thrown open for settlement he has been a resident here for several years. His brothers were the late James Lee, the inventor of the well-known Lee rifle mechanism which was adopted in combination with the Lee-Enfield and Lee-Metford rifles. Another brother was Mr. John Lee, a well-known foundry-man of Galt and Leamington. Mrs. George Corbet, formerly of this town, but who has only recently moved to Tyron, North Carolina where she resided with her daughter, was a sister as were also Mrs. Trumble and Mrs. Whitehead of Galt and Mrs. John Scagel of Sarnia. Deceased was a quiet and unobtrusive man who will be missed by intimate friends and relations. He is survived by a widow and six daughters, Mrs. Frances Morgan, Mrs. John Briggs, Mrs. Roderick Chambers Mrs. Charles Millman, Mrs. Fred. Brown, Miss Fannie Lee, and one son, Mr. Frank Lee of Virden, Man The funeral took place to Greenwood cemetery yesterday afternoon, the service being conducted by Rev.
