• Notes

  There expired in the township of Dawn, County of Lambton, on Wednesday of last week, Mr. William Wright, aged 69 years. Mr. Wright was an old resident of this neighborhood, having come to Galt in 1833. He was a native of Midlothian, Scotland, and came in the same ship which conveyed our well-known townsman, Mr. Andrew Scott. Mr. Wright first worked with the late Mr. S. Moffatt and also with Mr. Jas. Potter, who still survives. He afterwards took up the farm in Dumfries now occupied by Mr. James Douglass, which he worked for some time. He then removed to the township of Puslinch, and afterwards went with his son William to Dawn township, where, as we have said, he closed his long life. He leaves ten of a family, consisting of two sons and eight daughters, of the latter, three are married, viz.:- Mrs. Johnston, Beverly; Mrs. Johnston, Princeton; and Mrs. Maycock, Princeton. Of the sons, William resides in Dawn Township, and David in Garafraxa Township. The remains of Mr. Wright were brought to Galt for interment, the funeral leaving the residence of Mr. David Gibbs for the cemetery on Friday afternoon last. Galt Reporter May 25 1883 pg 1
