- Frederick Carl Witte, 78, of 263 Mill St., died early today at St. Mary's Hospital following an illness of four weeks. Born Oct. 1, 1875, in Germany, he was a son of the late Frederick E. Witte and Ernestina Schmidt. Mr. Witte was self-employed as a painter and decorator. He was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He came to Canada from Germany in 1886. His wife, the former Barbara Schenk whom he married 50 years ago last August, survives. Other survivors are three sons, George and Frederick of Kitchener and Alton of Waterloo: five daughters, Mrs. Fred (Hilda) Luft of Kitchener, Mrs. William (Wilhelmine) Sclunidt of London, Mrs. Conrad (Lillian) Doelle of Waterloo, Mrs. Herman (Clara) Noack of Norwich and Mrs. Marvin (Gertrude) Jackson of Delhi. Also two brothers, Paul and William, both of New Brunswick, N.J., and three sisters, Mrs. Augusta Radke, Mrs. Daniel (Elizabeth) Stauffer and Mrs. Emil (Elsie) Hoeft, all of Kitchener. Twenty-one grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive. One son and one daughter predeceased him. The body is at the Gruhm Funeral Home until Wednesday at 1 p.m. when removal will be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church for the funeral at 2: 30 pan. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery. Rev. A. W. Lotz will officiate. Friends may pay their respects prior to the service.1a
