    • THE LATE ANDREW TAYLOR

      Mr. Andrew Taylor whose death was chronicled in the last issue of the REFORMER, was a very old resident of North Dumfries, having come with his parents, from Medina, N. Y., in 1832, when he was but three years old and has lived on the farm south of Galt ever since. He was of a somewhat retiring disposition and never took an active part in public affairs. He was a devoted member of Knox church, and filled the office of elder, for more than twenty years and during that time was an earnest and useful member. About the beginning of this year, a swelling commenced in the face, which developed into cancer, resulting in death on 28th ult., when he passed peacefully away, having retained all his faculties up to within a few hours of his death. The deceased was married, in 1856 to Miss Margaret Scott, daughter of the late Archibald Scott of Beverly, who survives him. The other members of the family are three daughters and four sons, Mrs. John Gillespie, Misses Maggie and Maria and Messrs. Thomas, Archie, James and John. The funeral took place on Thursday 30th inst. and was attended by a large concourse of friends and neighbors.
