- Seldom has it been our duty to record such a sudden death as that of Henry Baechler who died at about 12:30 p m Tuesday from the effects of heart disease The day before his death Mr Baechler had taken his accustomed stroll down town and seemed to be as hale and hearty as ever In the evening he invited a couple of his friends to his home to play cards and Mr Baechler seemed to be the happiest of the lot Along the latter part of the evening however he complained of feeling dizzy and of having a dull pain above his heart He immediately quit playing and went to bed thinking that the spell might pass away but in the morning he was very low and all that loving hands and a skilled physician could do was done to relieve him but It was all in vain for he quietly passed into the Great Beyond to meet his Judge and Redeemer Henry Baechler was born in Elcas France July 25 1837 In 1852 he came to America and settled in Ontario Canada where he resided until 1883 when he moved to Scribner Nebraska In 1889 he waa united in marriage to Elisebeth Kirstine at Scribner They made their home at Scribner until about eight years ago when they and their family moved to Humphrey to reside. He leaves besides his aged wife six sons and five daughters as follows: Will Baechler of Fremont Nebraska Sam Baechler of Tacoma Washington Albert Baechler of Fort Collins Colorado Ed and Jos Baechler of Scribner Nebraska Leo and Clara Baechler of this place Mrs John Eckroat of Oklahoma City Oklahoma Mrs Jos Strabala of Fairmont Arkansas Mrs Frank Bayer of Dodge Nebraska Mrs Jos Moser of Hooper Nebraska The funeral services were held at St Francis church this morning at nine o'clock Rev Father Hildebrand officiating Interment was made in the cemetery west of town\emdash Humphrey Democrat.
