• Notes

  Joseph's passport was issued at Colmar Apr 5, 1836. On July 3, 1845 he affirmed allegiance, residing in Wilmot, after 7 years in Canada. Joseph appeared in Wellesley, as a widower, in the 1851 census. Elizabeth was a servant in the home. Maria was with them. In the 1861 and 1871 census, they were living on Lot #3, Conc. III. In 1872 Joseph built a permanent house on this farm. The Reformed Mennonite Church built a church and established a cemetery on the southwest corner of this farm. Joseph's family joined this church.
