- MCQUEEN, JAMES was born in Sheffield, and attended the local schools, following which he entered Trinity Medical School, Toronto, graduating in 1891.
He first practised at Lambton Mills for 1 ½ years before moving to Freelton. He practised there for 28 years, was Medical Officer of Health and Coroner for West Flamboro Township and a member of the Provincial Legislature representing South Waterloo from 1911 to 1914.
In 1920 or 1921, he moved to Galt, and here he practised for 36 years. He was for many years coroner for the city of Galt. He was the first chairman of the Galt Board of Education. In the medical field, he was a life member of the Ontario Medical Association, and from 1937 to 1940 served on the board of the Medical Council of Canada. He was a member of a number of fraternal organizations, as well as professional societies,
He died on June 3, 1957. aged 90 years, after a lengthy illness. He was survived by one daughter.

Dr. McQueen had practiced medicine for 28 years at nearby Freelton and 36 years in Galt. He was Liberal member for South Waterloo fron, 1911 to 1914. A former president of the College of Physicians and Surgeons, he was also a life member of the Ontario Medical As- sociation. He served on the Medical Council of Canada from 1937 to 1940.
