The death occurred in the Jubilee Hospital, Victoria. B.C., on July 8th of John R. Simons. Deceased was born in Kitchener and passed away following an illness of some length.
He is survived by two brothers, J. N. Simone, Victoria and Edward Simone, Ridgley. Man
The funeral took place on July 11. with interment in the Royal Oak Burial Park.

JOHN R. SIMONS CALLED TO REST
Former Postal Official Dies Here; Funeral Wednesday
In the Jubilee Hospital yesterday morning. John Robertson Simons of 365 St. Patrick Street, passed ansy after an illness of some weeks, at the age of seventy-three years.
Born in Kitchener, Ontario, of a well-known United Empire Loyalist family, Mr. Simons entered the Dominion civil service in 1877, when he went to his uncle in Belleville, Ont, as a Junior in the postal service. In 1882 he was transferred to Winnipeg. where he spent many years, subsequently retiring from the service as deputy post office inspector, shortly after the death of his mother
Mr. Simmons then came to Victoria where he found many old associates from different parts of Canada and identified himself with the cultural life of the city of the Island acted as secretary of Island Arts and Crafts Society, and took a keen Interest in the Victoria and Island Branch, Canadian Authors' Association.
He is survived by two brothers. J. N. Simons Victoria, and Edward Simons, Ridgley, Manitoba. The remains are resting at the Thomson Funeral Home, from where the funeral will take place on Wednesday afternoon, at 2.30 o'clock. Interment will be in the Royal Osk Burial Park. Rev. D.
