    • Mayer, Elmer, son of Moses and Rachel (Lichti) Mayer, was born at Baden, Ont., Apr. 6, 1902 ; died of emphysema at Kitchener, Ont., May 12, 1902[should read 1979]; aged 77 y. On June 23, 1926, he was married to Catharine Everatt, who died on Jan. 10, 1978. Surviving are one son (Cecil), 2 grandchildren, 2 brothers (Clarence and William), and 4 sisters (Adeline-Mrs. Simon Gingerich, Elmina-Mrs. Jerry Wismer, Mabel-Mrs. Elmer Streicher, and Viola-Mrs. William Gingerich). He was preceded in death by 3 brothers (Aaron, Allen, and Edgar). He was a member of St. Agatha Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on May 15, in charge of Nelson Martin and Elmer Schwartzentruber; interment in St. Agatha Mennonite Cemetery.

      MAYER, Elmer

      Mayer, Elmer-On Saturday, May 12, 1979, at St. Mary's Hospital, Elmer Mayer, age 77 years, of Nithview, New Hamburg.

      Survived by his son, Cecil of Hanover; his two grandchildren, Timothy, at home, and Kathryn of Exeter; his four sisters and two brothers: Adeline (Mrs. Simon Gingerich) and Clarence Mayer, both of Lowville, N.Y., Elmina (Mrs. Jerry Wismer) of New Hamburg, Mabel (Mrs. Elmer Streicher) of Tavistock, William Mayer of New Hamburg and Viola (Mrs. William Gingerich) of Kitchener.

      Predeceased by his wife, the former Catherine Everatt on January 10, 1978; three brothers, Aaron, Allen and Edgar; his father, Moses Mayer and his mother, the former Rachel Lichti.

      He was a lifelong member of St. Agatha Mennonite Church.

      Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, until noon on Tuesday; then at St. Agatha Mennonite Church for the funeral service on Tuesday, at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Nelson Martin will conduct the service. Interment will be made in the adjoining cemetery.

      Expressions of sympathy may be shown by donations to the Mennonite Central Committee or Respiratory Research Foundation.
