Notes |
- George Wing, "George was married to Elizabeth Carsten, a native of Bavaria. After emigrating to America he settled temporarily near Baltimore, Maryland, and from there they moved to Rochester, New York. In 1832 they left Rochester and moved to Canada. They settled in Waterloo County, Ontario, a few miles south-east of Baden, at a place known as Wilmot Centre. Here they resided for a number of years, then the old pioneer sold his place and purchased a farm near New Hamburg, near Hostetler's and C. Christner's. When well advanced in years they moved to Hay Township, Huron County, where he died in 1874, aged 76 years, and she died about the year 1889, aged 86 years. To them was born a family of ten children"
Eby, Ezra E. (1895). A biographical history of Waterloo township and other townships of the county: being a history of the early settlers and their descendants, mostly all of Pennsylvania Dutch origin: as also much other unpublished historical information chiefly of a local character.
